Account deletion

Delete your Lumey account

Lumey supports permanent account deletion in the app. This page explains how to request deletion and what happens to your data.

Delete your account in the Lumey app

You can permanently delete profiles or delete the entire family from within the Lumey app:

  1. Open the Lumey app.
  2. Go to the Settings tab.
  3. Open Account Management.
  4. Select the profile deletion option for the specific profile you want to remove, such as Delete My Profile or a child's profile.
  5. To remove all family data, profiles, and accounts, select Delete Entire Family.
  6. Follow the confirmation steps shown in the app.

Deleting a profile permanently removes that profile and its associated data. Deleting the entire family permanently removes all family data, profiles, and accounts. These actions are not the same as disabling, suspending, freezing, or deactivating an account.

If you cannot access the app

If you cannot sign in to Lumey or cannot access the in-app deletion flow, email us and request account deletion:

support@woodbinemedia.ca

Please contact us from the email address associated with your Lumey account when possible. We may need to verify ownership before processing the request.

What happens to your data

When a Lumey profile is deleted, that profile and associated personal data are permanently deleted from active systems. When an entire family is deleted, all family data, profiles, and accounts associated with that family are permanently deleted from active systems.

Deleted profile, account, and family data are typically deleted within 30 days. This includes account details, profile information, family membership information, journal entries, prompts, rewards, and other content associated with the deleted profile, account, or family.

Lumey may retain certain limited information where required or permitted for legal, security, fraud prevention, financial compliance, dispute resolution, or other legitimate business purposes.

We may also retain telemetry, analytics, logs, crash reports, device and diagnostic information, and similar operational data to help maintain app reliability, investigate errors, improve safety and performance, prevent abuse, and satisfy compliance obligations. This retained operational data is not used to keep your deleted account active.
