These Legal Terms govern your access to and use of Lumey and the related products and services offered by Woodbine Media & Technology.

Agreement to our legal terms
We are Woodbine Media & Technology, a company registered in Canada.
We operate the mobile application Lumey (the “App”), as well as any other related products and services that refer or link to these legal terms (the “Legal Terms”) (collectively, the “Services”).
Lumey is a parent-guided mobile journaling application designed for children. Our goal is to make daily gratitude, reflection, and self-awareness part of every child's life, helping them grow into confident adults with the support of their parents or legal guardians. Parents benefit from Lumey by gaining insight into their child's experiences in a safe, age-appropriate way.

These Legal Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (whether personally or on behalf of an entity) and Woodbine Media & Technology concerning your access to and use of the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you agree that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Legal Terms. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.
Children's use & parental consent (important)
Lumey is intended to be subscribed to and managed by adults aged 18 or older. Children under the age of 13 may only use the App with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who is the account holder.
By creating an account, you represent that:
- You are a parent or legal guardian of the child user(s), or have legal authority to consent on their behalf
- You consent to your child's use of the Services
- You are responsible for monitoring your child's activity within the App

1. Our Services
The Services are provided for personal, non-commercial family use only. The Services are not intended to provide medical, psychological, or educational diagnoses or treatment.
Lumey is not a medical application, nor do we collect health information, and as such is not compliant with HIPAA, FISMA, or similar regulated health data laws. Do not use the Services in ways that would require such compliance.
2. Intellectual Property Rights
All content, trademarks, logos, software, and design elements associated with Lumey are owned or licensed by Woodbine Media & Technology and are protected by Canadian, U.S., and international intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
Requests for permission beyond this scope must be sent to Lumey Support through the contact form found in the Help & Support section of the Lumey App.
3. User Representations
By using the Services, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years old
- Any child using the App does so with verified parental consent
- You will not use the Services for unlawful or harmful purposes
4. User Registration
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity occurring under your account, including your child's use of the App.
5. Purchases And Payment
All purchases are processed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated. Subscription fees, taxes, and billing terms are disclosed at the time of purchase.
6. Subscriptions
Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled.
Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store must be managed through your Apple ID subscription settings. Subscriptions purchased through Google Play must be managed through your Google Play subscription settings. You can reach these settings from Settings → How to cancel my subscription in the Lumey App. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

7. Software
The App is licensed, not sold. All software is provided “AS IS” without warranties of any kind. Nothing in this section affects rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
8. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Attempt to exploit, harm, or collect personal data from minors
- Reverse engineer or copy the App
- Use the Services for commercial or competitive purposes
9. User-Generated Content
Children's journal entries are treated as private by default and are only accessible to the parent or legal guardian account holder unless explicitly shared.
By submitting content, you grant Lumey a limited license solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Services. Children's content is never used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or commercial purposes, and is never sold or publicly displayed.
10. Reviews
Reviews must be truthful, respectful, and written by adult users only.
11. Mobile Application License
Use of the App is subject to Apple App Store and Google Play terms. Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of this license.
12. Services Management
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Legal Terms, particularly where child safety is concerned.
13. Privacy Policy (Summary)
We are committed to protecting children's privacy.
- We collect minimal personal data necessary to operate the App
- Children's data is collected only with verified parental consent, which is obtained through account creation, payment verification, or other methods permitted under applicable law
- We comply with COPPA (U.S.) and PIPEDA (Canada)
- Parents may review, delete, or request export of their child's data at any time
- Children's content is never used for advertising or marketing purposes

14. Copyright (DMCA)

15–25. Standard Legal Provisions
These sections include Term & Termination, Modifications, Governing Law (Canada), Dispute Resolution (Ontario), Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Electronic Communications, and Miscellaneous provisions, and remain legally consistent with the original Terms, except that any dispute must be commenced within the maximum period permitted by applicable law.
